ACMC
Mac FAA Chamber Music Ensembles

As part of Austin Chamber Music Center's mission to expand the appreciation and understanding of chamber music throughout Central Texas, participating McCallum Fine Arts Academy Orchestra students receive an hour of chamber music instruction each week during their school day from some of Austin's finest musicians. Students are pulled out of orchestra class and form separate chamber music ensembles for purposes of rehearsing. This is one of the programs that's makes the Fine Arts Academy Orchestra program so special.

The ACMC Spring Recital will be performed on May 18, 2:00 P.M. at the McCallum Fine Arts Academy Theater.

Carnegie Hall
Practice, Practice, Practice

A joke told a thousand times, but McCallum FAA Orchestra students have been invited to perform in New York's famed Carnegie Hall, June 13, 2009 as a participant in the Masterworks Series. The Masterworks Series invites qualified ensembles to collaborate on a major work for choir, professional orchestra and soloists under the direction of a nationally recognized conductor. Currently the McCallum Orchestra is slated to perform with the McCallum, Pflugerville and San Marcos choirs, Schubert's Mass No.2 in G major, conducted by John Rutter.

This is a great honor for this orchestra and a wonderful opportunity for the student musicians. The McCallum Orchestra Performance Fund, is accepting donations to fund this trip. Please make checks payable to the McCallum Performance Fund. Donations are tax deductible.
