Students who will be performing in one of three State orchestras include:
Diana Burgess, Senior, Cello
Jackson Ellinger, Junior, Viola
Nikolas Henson, Junior, String Bass
Griffin Meinbresse, Sophomore, String Bass
Andrew Rogers, Senior, String Bass
Trevor Young, Senior, String Bass

Ricky Pringle, Director of Orchestras at McCallum, commented: "Because Texas is so large, the All-State Orchestra audition process is an extremely competitive one. For Andrew Rogers to achieve top ranking reflects his intense commitment to a rigorous practice schedule. We are proud of all the students who gained a spot in the State's orchestras, and for all those who auditioned. These students worked for months on the difficult music required for auditioning. Preparing for and completing the All-State audition is an achievement all by itself."

Students awarded positions in the All-State Orchestras will attend the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) convention in San Antonio from February 9-12, 2011. Their efforts will culminate in a concert that is open to the public on Saturday, February 12 in the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio.
